1913 King George V Half Sovereign
Collectors 1913 King George Half Sovereign with George and the Dragon reverse side. This Sovereign was minted in a year of significant note to the Suffragette movement, the year in which Emily Davinson ran in front of King George V's horse, becoming the first Woman to give her life in the fight for female emancipation. This year is also of note being that it was the last year within which Sovereign's were used for circulated purposes, as well as the last year in which Sovereigns were minted before the First World War. In summary, this coin marks the end and beginning of an Era in more ways than one, the history contained within this piece is truly staggering.
